The Truth About FBI McVeigh Case?

Wednesday, 16 May 2001 12:00 AM

Could it be that someone inside the FBI never believed that McVeigh acted alone in the bombing in Oklahoma City and thus is trying to use this "discovery” of documents as a way to re-open the investigation?

Is FBI Director Freeh’s just-announced resignation – one week

McVeigh has consistently claimed he acted alone. But a US Air Force General – an expert in assessing bomb damage – claimed in a letter to Senator Trent Lott six years ago that there was no way one man driving the amount of explosives that McVeigh parked next to the Murrah Building that day could have caused such massive damage. This expert was certain more people had to be involved.

Is it possible that others are

And, by the way, because McVeigh wants the death penalty so badly, perhaps we should deny him this wish. Maybe we ought to make his sweat a little. Make him work – hard – for 12 hours a day.

How can we ever again have respect for a law enforcement agency that allows itself to be so corrupted by a crooked President and a compliant Attorney General?

Team Bush should use this McVeigh-FBI story as a two-pronged political weapon: while ordering a total new look at the FBI, the Clinton cases will

And maybe – just maybe – there is more to the bombing story than we know. Maybe this document leak was the work of a patriotic "whistleblower” afraid to attach his or her name to the doubts about the honesty of the original investigation.

In America we believe that the "truth ultimately wins out.”

If so, we need to dig deeper -
