Russian Navy Loses Power

According to him, power supplies were cut off in all facilities of the base except its headquarters and barracks. The navy owes the company R56m for heat and electricity and does nothing to pay the bills, Chechel claimed.

The utility also limited power supplies to the defence plant Polyarnaya Zvezda in Severodvinsk, which produces equipment for nuclear submarines. The plant's debt exceeded R10.6m, he said.
