One Reporter's Opinion - Illegal Alien Problem Mainstream at Last!

Well, now... this sounds like Mr. Bush's "guest worker" proposal that would allow illegal aliens in the U.S. to remain if they have jobs and apply as guest workers - the aliens to stay for an undetermined number of renewable three-year periods and then to seek permanent legal status. Bush and Fox had agreed to consider granting permanent residency - green cards - to as many as three million Mexicans invading the U.S.

Bill O'Reilly's recent interview with President Bush revealed the following: The U.S. has no plans to deploy troops along the Mexican border to stop the deluge of illegal aliens pouring into our country at the rate of three million per year. Bush said, "As the Governor of Texas, I was very aware of this issue. There is a long border that makes it hard to control. We have beefed up places along the border to try to stop the flow. It's working a little better." Then Bush brazenly stated, "They're doing a pretty good job down in Arizona. There're a thousand more border patrol agents along the border. We're modernizing border techniques; we're using better surveillance methods to stop crossing at the border."

Shocking that the President should cite the Arizona border where an estimated 4,000 a night are coming in. But the President didn't stop there. He said, "If you can make fifty cents in the interior of Mexico and five bucks in the interior of the U.S., you're coming for the five bucks."

And then, returning to his ill-fated proposal of last January, Bush said "The best way to enhance the border is to have temporary worker cards available for people. The long-term solution for this issue is for Mexico to grow a middle class, that's why I believe in NAFTA."

O'Reilly responded, "A lot of people are not going to like that answer" to which Bush said, "It's a truthful answer."

Neither Bush nor Kerry will defend against this invasion. Congress is in the back pockets of corporations. Elected officials are in violation of their oaths of office.

My friends, we are facing an out-an-out conspiracy against every citizen and the invasion continues.

According to the Time Magazine article, the number of illegals flooding into the U.S. this year will total three million - enough to fill 22,000 Boeing 737-700 airliners or 60 flights a day for a year. That is triple the number of immigrants who come to the U.S. by legal means!

From October to August last year, 56,000 illegal aliens - OTM's (other than Mexicans) - were caught as they crossed the border from Middle Eastern countries hostile to the U.S. - and that number is only the ones they caught. The border patrol catches only one in four. The "coyotes" that conduct drug smuggling, rape and murder make as much as $5,000 a week. Corporate America thrives on the illegals. Big business employs illegal aliens at wages so low, few citizens can afford to take the jobs. But it's great for the profits of greedy stockholders; that's why the payrolls of the meatpackers, poultry processors, landscape firms, construction companies, office cleaning firms and others are jammed with illegals.

It's a federal crime punishable by up to $10,000 and a prison sentence for each illegal alien hired. But you can count on the fingers of one hand companies ever punished. Third World momentum is escalating across the U.S. Greed is imbedded in our system. The rule of law is thwarted and crime prevails. We're starting to sound like a Third World country. It's time for a third party; Republicans and Democrats have had it!

The facts are well known. We understand the problem. Surely a solution isn't far off. But in the meantime, we can stay educated and appreciate investigative journalists like Barlett and Steele (for their Time Magazine expose) who tell it like it is! It is this reporter's opinion they deserve a Pulitzer for "Who Left the Door Open?"
