Obese are Twice as Likely to Go Blind

People are getting fatter, and with that comes the potential for losing one's eyesight. In a new report by the United Kingdom's Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB), the RNIB sounds the alarm for the obese to monitor their vision closely, warning obese adults and children that they are at twice the risk of losing their sight as those of normal weight.

RNIB eye health consultant Barbara McLaughlin said, "With a staggering one in five adults and children in the UK now considered to be obese, the RNIB believes it is vital that people are made aware of the risks to their sight."
