Iraq Said to Sign Oil Deal with Syria

The agreement, recently signed in Baghdad, also sets Syrian transit tariffs on Iraqi crude and projected links for carrying Iraqi natural gas to Syria, the source said.

Oil Minister Amir Muhammad Rashid recently announced that Iraq had 9,250 billion cubic meters of known gas reserves. He said 12 gas wells were discovered in Iraq last year, including two wells in Mansuriya province in Iraqi Kurdistan and 10 others in western Iraq near its border with Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria.
