Intemperate Thoughts

Earlier this week in Great Britain they arrested some character for putting feces in envelopes and mailing them to various people. Also earlier this week, the constituents of Cynthia McKinney received from their congresswoman a 14-page "Book of Accomplishments" in the mail.

In England you go to jail for that stuff. In the United States you run for re-election.

General aviation pilots and owners like myself are watching the huge-and-growing Transportation Security Agency with a wary eye. How long before I have to have a TSA general aviation security specialist come and unlock my hangar and search my airplane every time I want to fly?

New research shows that talk radio still grabs the largest portion of the radio audience out there – and that the people who listen to talk radio are more educated, more likely to own a home and more likely to consider themselves successful.

In other words, not all that likely to vote for Democrats. Thus the "Destroy Talk Radio" plank of the

The Democrat and Republican parties may hold their 2004 presidential nominating conventions in the same week. Fine – let these two infomercials run at the same time so we can get them out of the way and get back to our normal routines.

Anyone who is attracted to an automobile dealership by some announcer screaming "all credit applications accepted" or the promise of a car priced at "below invoice" deserves to drive out in a car with four bald tires, one quart of thick sludge in the oil pan and a litter of skunks in the trunk. As long as there are people who will vote for Democrats, these advertising absurdities will work.

There are a lot more Muslims in France than there are Jews. French officials are scared to sudden death of their Muslim population. I'm surprised they even sent the fire department when the Israeli Embassy burned yesterday. Short circuit? We'll see.

Those German protesters? The talking heads will tell us that they're not happy with President Bush because of his support of Israel, his opposition to Iraq and other such matters. Bullsqueeze.

Let's break down the reported 20,000 protesters. About 13,000 of them were there because it like looked like a like so cool of an event that they could like be involved with. Another 8,000 of these protesters were there because they are resentful of the economic success and standard of living enjoyed by Americans, whom they consider to be their intellectual and societal inferiors. The other 1,000 were supporters of Muslim radicalism.

Did you know that Mexican soldiers crossed the U.S. border a few days ago and may have fired shots at American Border Patrol officers? If these Mexican soldiers can cross our border so easily, why don't they set up some water stations for illegal aliens?

An editorial in today's Atlanta Journal-Constitution starts with this sentence: "Nobody wants pilots to have guns in the cockpit but pilots themselves and a few congressional supporters."

So, now we know that at least one left-wing editorial writer at the AJC has managed to develop the unique talent of being able to actually type words into a word processor while suffering from the debilitating effects of a severe rectal-cranial inversion.

Another unplugged metal detector. This time at the Ft. Lauderdale airport. When someone discovered that the rocket-scientist security screeners were using an unplugged detector, they had to evacuate hundreds of passengers from the terminal.

You would think that after about the 15th time this happens someone would figure out a way to make sure these things don't come unplugged. But hey. We're dealing with government here.

Linda Schrenko and Bill Byrne need to calm down. The Sonny Purdue rat video is absolutely hilarious. Schrenko and Byrne are just ticked off because they didn't have the imagination or the money to make the video themselves.

Gay dorms on college campuses? One of my listeners did come up with a pretty good name: Howard's Johnson.

Can anyone tell me where I can find a grocery store that doesn't accept food stamps? Now that the plunder of the non-achievers has been automated with those EBT cards, all the great unwashed have to do is push a button to make someone else pay for their food.

It's a nauseating feeling to be standing in line with your checkbook in hand only to watch some loser ahead of you just push a button to make you pay for her more expensive cuts of meat

Sen. Snagglepuss is still pushing his agenda of tax increases for high achievers. For two days now, a spokesman for Lieberman's office has promised to call. I only want to ask one question … just one. "What is the maximum percentage that any individual should ever have to pay in income taxes?" Such a simple question, and so few "journalists" who will dare to ask it.

Our Director of Homeland Security tells us this morning that our security level is Yellow. Fine. What in the hell does that mean? Can one person out there in the vast over-educated Boortz listening audience tell me one single change you would make in your behavior if the alert level were to change to orange? Or blue?

OK … is it just me, or does that police chief in Washington, D.C., look eerily like the police chief on "The Simpsons"?

The youngest winner of the National Geographic Bee. He's 10 years old. He's home schooled. This doesn't make government school advocates happy.

Year after year we're seeing that mom and pop can do a better job of educating out children than these "certified" government indoctrination experts we call teachers. As this trend continues, look for more teachers union assaults on home schooling.

We have reports today that many of the leftists we call "Democrats" are a bit upset that their leaders are not doing a good enough job of standing up for working people, minorities and the poor. Remember, to a leftist you cease to be a "working person" when your income rises more than 23 percent above the poverty level.

Democrats think that rich people don't work – that people work

And as for these Democrat leaders not standing up for minorities and the poor? That means they aren't taking enough money from the rich and giving it to the minorities and the poor. How about standing up for liberty and individual responsibility? What am I, crazy?

A great question from a CNN Headline News anchor this morning. Bob Franken in D.C. was talking of the details of Chandra Levy's disappearance. The gorgeous (of course) anchor asked, "So what would it take to change this from a death investigation to a murder investigation?"

Kudos to Franken. He didn't say, "Well, when they figure out she was murdered." See … I just wouldn't have been able to hold my tongue if that were me.

Georgia spends about $6,400 annually per pupil in government schools – and they're some of the worst schools in the nation. The City of Atlanta spends about $13,000 per pupil, and they're some of the worst schools in Georgia.

Know what we need? More spending! It must work!

We have stories in the media today about the poor, poor pitiful kids living in low-income homes. The number is now around 10 million. As these numbers increase, the structure of political correctness will prevent anyone (except me, that is) from suggesting that there is something basically wrong with women having babies they can't afford to raise.
