As a private organization, the golf club has the right to set its own rules, and Burk's subsequent protests at Augusta produced more ridicule than "reform."

The National Council of Women's Organization's (NCWO) describes itself as a nonpartisan, nonprofit coalition of more than 200 women's organizations across the nation. It focuses on national public policy issues affecting women.
