Cure For Macular Degeneration in Five Years

Blindness from age-related macular degeneration (AMD or ARMD) may soon be a thing of the past. A new treatment developed by British researchers will use human embryonic stem cells to repair eye damage.

Dr. Russell Blaylock, author of the Blaylock Wellness Report, writes in his special report, "Protecting Your Eyes," that Those Most at Risk for Cataracts and AMD are people:

The new treatment will use human cells grown in a laboratory which will be injected into the eyes though three one millimeter holes. Doctors will go under the retinal layer of the eye and then separate it from the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE,) a layer of cells under the retina, and insert the new cells. The method has already been used successfully on rats.

The British researchers hope their new procedure will begin restoring the sight of humans within five years, but Dr. Blaylock says that you can start protecting yourself today. He writes that the first thing you must do is change your diet, adding that there are several substances your body needs — preferably through diet but through supplementation if you must — to help keep your eyes healthy.
