Celebrate Reagan as a Great Hero

Thursday, 17 May 2001 12:00 AM

Dear friends:

It has been said that a nation can be only as great as its heroes.

For many, our national "heroes" are athletes or, even worse, gangsta-rappers or other Hollywood celebrities.

But for me, our great heroes are people who have made America great.

One such hero of mine is Ronald Reagan.

Through the courage of his convictions and the force of his personality, Reagan took on the establishment and the Soviet Empire. He defeated both.

NewsMax.com editorially shares the Reagan vision for America - we make no bones about it and offer no apologies. We believe if Lincoln's belief is to continue, that America remain the last great hope of mankind by championing the cause of freedom, then we must stay committed to the Reagan vision: a strong America with a peace-through-strength policy and an America where government does not violate our freedoms.

NewsMax.com is proud to announce a special art offering called "Reagan Country" to those of our readers who believe Ronald Reagan should be remembered as a great national hero.

You can

In 1981, nationally recognized artist Gary Giuffre was commissioned by the National Republican Committee to create a portrait in graphite pencil of President Ronald Reagan. President and Mrs. Reagan liked the rendering so much they made it a permanent part of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, Calif. From the famous Reagan smile to the well-worn cowboy hat, this fine-quality lithograph depicts the true character of the man who made such a remarkable impact on our nation.

To view Giuffre's work, exclusively available now at NewsMax,

Texas artist Gary Giuffre is nationally known for his incredibly lifelike graphite pencil portraits of famous personalities. "Reagan Country" has a prominent place among his large portfolio of impressive work.

Giuffre studied art at the University of Houston, where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1972. He has produced illustrations for television and for national organizations. His ability to depict in hand drawings the exceptional qualities of an image led NASA to tap Giuffre to portray future spacecraft and equipment.

Each lithograph is hand-signed by the artist!

Truly a collector's item, the 16" x 20" fine art print is beautifully lithographed on high-quality cream-colored paper. The print is generously double matted with acid-free materials and professionally framed in an exquisite two-tone cherry-finish wood with subtle black highlights. The outside of the frame measures about 22" x 25".

You will marvel at the exquisite detail of this classic print. Every detail in this rendering - even the fibers of the shirt Reagan is wearing - is clearly portrayed. Each tiny detail works together to produce as lifelike a rendering as you've ever seen.

The timeless beauty of the classic-style frame will fit in any decor - perfect for home, den or office. Your hand-signed "Reagan Country" portrait is professionally packaged with the utmost care. The history of the print and biography of the artist is displayed on the back, and your framed portrait comes to you ready to hang and enjoy for years to come!

I might add that "Reagan Country" is the perfect gift to those who share our view of Ronald Reagan. Father's Day is coming up soon, and for birthdays and holidays, this is a gift that won't be forgotten.

In fact, I am proud to say "Reagan Country" hangs prominently on my office wall.
