Andrew Yang said on Wednesday night that immigrants aren't a threat to American jobs, because "you will not find wall to wall immigrants" in factories, "you will find wall to wall machines."
In a discussion about the broken immigration system in the nation, Yang called himself "the son of immigrants myself."
"My father immigrated here and generated over 65 U.S. Patents for GE and IBM. That's the immigration story we need to be telling," he said.
"We can't always been focusing on some of the distressed stories. If you go to a factory here in Michigan, you will not find wall to wall immigrants, you will find wall to wall machines. Immigrants are being scapegoated for something they have nothing to do with."
