The Wall Street Journal is declaring that President Donald "Trump's challenge is over," with a piece by the editorial board claiming the president and the GOP would help the country and be better off "acknowledging the result and moving on" from the presidential election.

The Electoral College is set to vote Monday and mark Joe Biden the president-elect, but Trump has said "it's not over" and that he is not planning on accepting that result.

The Journal, which is owned by Fox News sister company News Corp, wrote in an article published Sunday that the president's "last legal gasp came Friday evening when the Supreme Court declined to hear the Texas lawsuit seeking to overturn the election results in Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania."

The article states the Supreme Court "made the right call" and says that the fact that Trump's appointees to the high court did not dissent proves the left's claims that the president's judicial appointees are partisans are wrong.

"This is one more example in which the claims that Mr. Trump would somehow hijack American democracy have been proven false. The President huffs and tweets but he never blows the country's core institutions down. The checks and balances have held."

The Rupert Murdoch-owned outlet also hits Democrats and the media, saying they lost credibility when they "promoted the Russia 'collusion' lies for four years and indulged Hillary Clinton's claims to this day that the Russians elected Mr. Trump in 2016."

The paper acknowledges that "mass mail-in balloting led to more election problems" but says "these irregularities do not add up to a stolen election in multiple states.

"There's a time to fight, and a time to concede. Mr. Trump has had his innumerable days in court and lost. He would do far better now to tout his accomplishments in office, which are many, and accept his not so horrible fate as one of 45 former American Presidents," the article concludes.
