An order previously issued by Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers restricting the capacity of bars, restaurants, and other indoor gatherings was reinstated by a judge on Monday, according to Axios.

The alcohol trade association Tavern League of Wisconsin accused the state of overreaching its authority by forcing "de facto closure" of 5,000 bars and restaurants represented by the organization. On Oct. 14, a judge temporarily blocked the Democrat governor's order, which was ultimately reinstated today.

Wisconsin is experiencing one of the worst coronavirus resurgences in the United States, as a record 1,090 people were hospitalized by Sunday.

Last week, however, the state did see record lows in coronavirus infections and deaths.
