4 or 5 Candidates for WH Press Secretary

President Donald Trump says replacing Sarah Huckabee Sanders as White House press secretary won’t be easy, but "a lot of people want the job."

"We have four or five people that really want it, very good people, very good names but Sarah has done a fantastic job,” Trump told The Hill during an interview Monday.

He then quipped, "she'll be governor. She won't talk to us anymore," to which Sanders retorted, "that would never happen."

Trump has encouraged Sanders to run in her native Arkansas, and sources last week told Politico she was "extremely serious" about a campaign for governor, including being in contact with donors and state Republican operatives.

Of a formal endorsement for Sanders governor’s race, Trump declared, "If she runs for governor she would have my endorsement. I don't know that she's gonna run, but I think she should. She's very popular."

Sanders' father, Mike Huckabee, is a former governor of the state.

Trump announced Sanders' resignation in mid-June, and the White House has been lining up candidates to replace her. Per CBS News, Melania Trump's deputy chief of staff and communications director, Stephanie Grisham, is high on the list, along with Tony Sayegh, the departing assistant secretary for public affairs at the Treasury Department.
