Twitter needs to focus on the "propaganda machine" tweets coming from China and add fact-checking links there rather than on President Donald Trump's messages about voter fraud and mail-in ballots, Rep. Michael Waltz said Wednesday.
"Are they going to start doing this to everyone?" the Florida Republican said on Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "Why would they do this to the president when so many people tweeted about different things they don't get the same service?"
Waltz said there have been several problems with mail-in voters, including in his home state, where large batch of ballots was discovered in someone's car.
"In Texas alone, the Heritage Foundation found 24 cases of voter fraud," said Waltz. "Seven of them involved mail-in ballots since 2015."
China, meanwhile, denies citizens rights and blocks Twitter and Facebook, but Twitter ignores that, said Waltz.
"They need to stop their double standard in terms of trying to decide the truth and focusing on social justice here, but then ignoring everything that's going on with these authoritarian regimes," said Waltz.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker reflected on Wednesday afternoon's space launch from Florida, calling the first manned mission in several years "tremendous."
"The president has been such a leader on space since day 1, not only setting tremendous goals like getting the next American man and the first American woman to the moon by 2024 but also in the military national security side establishing the Space Force," said Waltz, adding that the end of the Space shuttle launches devastated Florida's economy and made the United States dependent on Russia.
"Our entire modern economy is dependent on that constellation of satellites, from agriculture to finance and others to what's up there," said Waltz. "We have to be able to defend it...that old adage that you can't be number one on Earth if you are number two in space really still holds. This is just exciting times."
