Voter Fraud Panel Member: Widespread Irregularities 'Urban Legend'

Alabama Probate Judge Alan King, who served on the just-dissolved presidential voter fraud commission, said any further investigation into voter irregularities would be a "wild goose chase," AL.com is reporting.

"I think it's a wild goose chase," he said. "I think it's an urban legend that there's widespread voter fraud in the U.S. I hope [the Department of Homeland Security and White House officials] will start to focus on real issues instead of made-up issues."

President Donald Trump disbanded the voters panel Wednesday. It had been set up to investigate claims of voter fraud during the presidential election, The Hill noted.

King, a Democrat, had been a frequent critic of the panel, despite being a member, according to the website.

"I don't know what we're supposed to accomplish, and I have been frustrated for a while," he told AL.com.

And King said he was not presented any evidence of voter fraud.

King maintained he had expected the panel to be professional, transparent, and organized –but he said that was not the case.

"Throughout my career I have been involved in civic groups, church groups, high school groups, that were run better than this commission," he said. "And to say that is a disappointment would be an understatement."
