Poll Suggests Tie between Miller, Murkowski

Thursday, 21 Oct 2010 07:14 AM

JUNEAU, Alaska — New polling suggests a virtual dead heat in Alaska's Senate race between Republicans Joe Miller and Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

But the CNN-TIME poll also finds 10 percent of likely voters asked saying they'd be inclined to vote for another candidate if the write-in process required to vote for Murkowski proved too difficult.

Murkowski has focused heavily on educating Alaskans about the process. She's running as a write-in following her loss to Miller in the GOP primary.

The poll found Miller and Murkowski each with 37 percent of the likely vote; Democrat Scott McAdams had 23 percent.

The Oct. 15-19 poll of 946 likely voters has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
