Former Democratic Congressman Alan Grayson told Politico that he's poised to make another run at Congress this year, somewhere "TBD" in Florida.

Gray resigned his seat in the House to make a run at the Senate in 2016, a primary race he lost to Patrick Murphy, who subsequently lost to Sen. Marco Rubio in the general.

"Yes, this cycle is what I'm looking at," Grayson told Politico on Monday. "But Florida law says I can run anywhere."

Grayson would be just in time for the #MeToo movement; his ex-wife alleged two decades of abuse at the hands the controversial former lawmaker, including a threat to kill her.

He also faced scrutiny from the Federal Elections Commission.

Still, Grayson has millions to pour into a campaign to help position himself as a reformed progressive. Further, he never stopped accepting donations.

The smart money has Grayson going back to Florida's 9th district to take on the man who succeeded him in the House, Rep. Darren Michael Soto.

"Soto's problem is that he is not fundraising well," a Central Florida Democrat monitoring the House seat told Politico. "His problem is that Alan is not only ahead on [cash on hand], but Alan can toss another million on top of that."
