President Donald Trump congratulated himself Friday morning after the May jobs report showed the unemployment rate was lower than expected.
Minutes after the data was released showing the unemployment rate fell to 13.3%, below the expected figure of around 19%, Trump posted several tweets about the news.
"Really Big Jobs Report. Great going President Trump (kidding but true)!" he wrote.
In follow-up posts, Trump appeared to reference media personalities' views on the matter.
"I am so stunned. I've never seen numbers like this and I've been doing this for 30 years! Steve M. @MariaBartiromo," he wrote in one.
In another, Trump wrote, "This is an AMAZING JOBS REPORT! Edward Lawrence @FoxNews."
He also said, "It's a stupendous number. It's joyous, let's call it like it is. The Market was right. It's stunning! @jimcramer @CNBC."
Another post read, "It is a stunner by any stretch of the imagination! @CNBC."
Trump also gave a nod to Charles Payne of Fox Business Network, writing, "Congratulations to wonderful Charles Payne on having been so optimistic, and therefore correct. Market up BIG!!!"
Trump added a jab to Democrats and Joe Biden, the party's presumptive presidential nominee for the November election: "Oh no, the Dems are worried again. The only one that can kill this comeback is Sleepy Joe Biden!"
The president said he will speak about the jobs report during a 10 a.m. news conference.
