Twitter has reversed course on a decision earlier this week to block Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., from buying an ad on the social media platform that refers to Planned Parenthood selling "baby body parts."

Blackburn currently is running for the Senate seat being vacated by Republican Bob Corker. She announced the rejection by Twitter on Monday.

Though the ad was embedded on Blackburn's campaign account, Twitter wrote to her campaign saying she could not pay to promote it, saying the line about selling baby body parts was "inflammatory" and was "likely to evoke a strong negative reaction."

The ad could be promoted if the line were omitted, Twitter told the campaign.

Fox News reported Tuesday that Twitter had changed its mind after a strong reaction from Blackburn's supporters.

"The American people rose up," Blackburn told Martha McCallum on Fox News Channel's "The Story." "They are sick and tired of the liberal elites and the liberal media telling them what they are going to listen to and what is going to be pushed forward and broadcast."

"They decided that to talk about pro-life, pro-baby was inflammatory and would evoke a negative response," Blackburn said. "I doubled down on standing for life and fought them back on this."
