President Donald Trump on Thursday posted a series of tweets and retweets on Twitter on Thursday morning, including one declaring his daughter Ivanka's support "so cute" and another in all-capital letters labeling the impeachment inquiry launched against him this week as a "scam."
"THE GREATEST SCAM IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICAN POLITICS!" Trump posted among his flurry of Twitter messages posted to his account early Thursday morning in response to the formal impeachment inquiry House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., announced earlier this week.
Among his postings, Trump retweeted daughter Ivanka's message that simply said "Thank you, Mr. President!" adding, "So cute! Her father is under siege, for no reason, since his first day in office!"
He also retweeted himself several times, including once where he declared, "there has been no President in the history of our Country who has been treated so badly as I have. The Democrats are frozen with hatred and fear. They get nothing done. This should never be allowed to happen to another President. Witch Hunt!"
The morning tweetstorm included retweets of his appearances this week at the United Nations, of Vice President Mike Pence's defense of him on a Fox News talk show, comments made by staffers such as counselor Kellyanne Conway, and clips from television news programming about the impeachment inquiry, including clips from his appearance at the United Nations with Ukraine's president.
Some of the retweets were of posts from his son, Donald Trump Jr., who at one point said "we should impeach them all."
