Fox News host Tucker Carlson says he's been open to Donald Trump's message, but said his statement after
losing in Wisconsin to Ted Cruz didn't sound like someone who wants to win.
"It's an ominous statement for those who hope the campaign would reset after the loss and regain some seriousness," Carlson said in Fox News post-election coverage.
Trump called Cruz a "Trojan horse" and said he is illegally coordinating with anti-Trump super PACs.
Cruz as a Trojan horse is hard to imagine, Carlson said, since the clear "anti-Trump" option is Cruz, and Cruz's message is essentially a moderated Trump message.
The statement, he said, suggests "a lack of reality at the core of the Trump campaign … just a matter of political fact, this statement tells you, they're not, like, facing what's happening. It's a little bit crazy."
