GOP Rep: Trump to Visit Texas Gulf Coast

As Hurricane Harvey pummels Texas and brings catastrophic flooding to the area, Republican Texas Congressman Blake Farenthold tweeted that President Donald Trump plans to visit the region next week. 

"In my call with @VP he said @realDonaldTrump plans on visiting our area early next week. #HurricaneHarvey," Farenthold tweeted. 

The hurricane crashed into vulnerable homes and businesses along the coastline in a blow that killed at least two people and injured up to 14.

According to The Associated Press, authorities say rescue attempts continue in Houston for those stranded inside flooded homes and submerged vehicles.
