Donald Trump’s camp kept Twitter from a Wednesday gathering of some of the biggest tech companies in the world because of a failed emoji deal, Politico reports.

On hand at Trump Tower were Apple's Tim Cook, Amazon's Jeff Bezos, Facebook's Sheryl Sandberg, and Tesla's Elon Musk. But Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey wasn’t invited because earlier this year he put a stop to rolling out an emoji that would have shown small bags of money being given away or stolen tied to the #CrookedHillary hashtag.

The Trump campaign signed a deal with Twitter in August where it committed to spending $5 million on advertising in exchange for discounts, perks and custom emojis, according to Gary Coby, Trump’s director of digital advertising and fundraising.

But Dorsey didn’t allow the custom emoji to go through, which upset Trump & Co.

"We told them it was BS and what they were doing with a public platform was incredibly reckless and dangerous," Coby wrote in a post on Medium. "We voiced that it was clearly a political move and telling us otherwise was just insulting."

Trump in the meeting on Wednesday said he was "here to help you folks do well."

"And you're doing well right now and I'm very honored by the bounce. They're all talking about the bounce. So right now everybody in this room has to like me — at least a little bit — but we're going to try and have that bounce continue."
