After a rancorous day at the office Thursday sparring with the press, President Donald Trump expects to see friendlier faces on his scheduled road trip to South Carolina on Friday.

Ostensibly built around a trip to Boeing for the unveiling of its 787-10 Dreamliner, Trump can bask in the support of a state he won by 14 points over Hillary Clinton, Politico reported.

For what the media portrays as dysfunction and chaos in Trump's first month, conservative South Carolinians see the man they voted for doing exactly what he promised he would do.

"They basically say, 'We sent him to shake things up in Washington, is he doing that?'" Rep. Mark Sanford told Politico. "And they basically think yes. … They don't care about the ins and outs."

Then Trump is off to Melbourne, Florida, for a campaign rally and "Thank You" tour, one Trump tweeted about Wednesday and mentioned in his press conference Thursday.

It'll mark Trump second consecutive weekend trip to Florida; Trump hosted Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his wife last weekend at his Palm Beach getaway Mar-a-Lago.
