As Donald Trump continues to add critics, GOP leaders have feared losing their majority in the Senate; however, polls in some potential swing states suggest no harm has been done, as Business Insider's Allan Smith wrote Wednesday.

"In states such as Ohio, Iowa, and Georgia, Trump's plummeting poll numbers haven't been detrimental to the incumbent Republicans on the ticket," Smith wrote.

The report points to the polls on the following races:

Ohio:

The NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll has Democratic president nominee Hillary Clinton now with a five-point lead after being tied before the conventions in July — despite the fact the state hosted the Republican National Convention. The poll on the Senate race, though, lists movement from a July dead-heat to a five-point lead for Republican Rob Portman over Democrat Ted Strickland.

Iowa:

Clinton added one point to her narrow lead here from 3 percent to four, per the poll; yet, Republican incumbent Chuck Grassley maintained his double-digit lead over Democratic challenger Patty Judge.

Georgia:

Clinton has held leads over Trump of 4 and 7 points between July and August, while Sen. Johnny Isakson has led Jim Barksdale by 6 and 9 points, Business Insider reported.
