The intelligence President Donald Trump reportedly shared with Russian officials pertained to Israel's hacking of an Islamic State (ISIS) bomb making network, according to a new report.

The New York Times reported Monday that members of Israeli intelligence were able to penetrate an ISIS computer network in Syria and gathered information about how ISIS was building laptop bombs and their detonation plans. That intelligence led to the United States and the United Kingdom banning laptops on certain flights.

During an Oval Office meeting with two Russian officials in early May, Trump was alleged to have shared classified intelligence picked up by a U.S. ally, which happened to be Israel. It is not clear how much of the information Trump allegedly gave to the Russians.

Russia is aligned with the Syrian and Iranian governments, both of which are not friendly with the U.S. There was concern that sharing classified information with Russia that is related to Israel and the Middle East could eventually make it back to Iran — which has threatened to destroy Israel on multiple occasions.
