The Republican National Committee, calling the impeachment inquiry "nothing more than a political hit job," is urging 100,000 donors to "step up and defend" President Donald Trump before midnight.

The fundraising pitch came in a Tuesday tweet.

It read: "This Impeachment Hoax is nothing more than a political HIT JOB by Democrats. We need 100,000 donors to step up and defend President Trump before MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. Contribute NOW to get on the list of American Patriots we send him."

The tweet linked to a donor page that reads, "President Trump wants to do something HISTORIC to show the Radical Left just how strong our movement truly is. He wants 100,000 donors by midnight tonight."
