President Donald Trump is reportedly quite pleased with his new residence despite his trepidation about leaving his Trump Tower home, according to The New York Times.

In an interview published Wednesday, Trump praised his new surroundings repeatedly.

"These are the most beautiful phones I've ever used in my life," he said during the telephone interview held Tuesday night.

"The world's most secure system," he added with a laugh. "The words just explode in the air."

Trump, who lived and worked in Trump Tower and is used to working and sleeping in the same building, said he prefers to work in the Oval Office.

"I've had people come in, they walk in here and they just want to stare for a long period of time," he said.

Trump's wife, Melania, and youngest child, Barron, will continue to live in New York until the end of the school year.

"They'll come down on weekends," Trump added. "She'll come down on Thursdays and stay."

"It's a beautiful residence, it's very elegant, "Trump said later. "There's something very special when you know that Abraham Lincoln slept there. The Lincoln Bedroom, you know, was his office, and the suite where I'm staying is actually where he slept," he added, referring to the master bedroom that he now occupies.

"Knowing all of that, it's different, than, you know, just pure elegance and room size," he said. "There's a lot of history."

According to CNN, Trump plans to host many bridge-building parties in the coming weeks as he attempts to integrate himself into Washington.

"He is someone who really enjoys that kind of conversation," said White House press secretary Sean Spicer. "I think you are going to see lot of meetings occur like the ones that he did today," he added, referring to a visit by members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and the Congressional Black Caucus.
