President Donald Trump is considering pardon and clemency requests from dozens of people, including former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich and Alice Marie Johnson.

The Trump administration has prepared paperwork for at least 30 people, according to CNN, which the president will review.

Among those in consideration for a pardon or commuted sentence are Blagojevich, who was convicted of corruption for soliciting bribes for former President Barack Obama's vacant Senate seat following his election in 2008, Martha Stewart, who was convicted of insider trading, and Alice Marie Johnson, who has served 20 years of a life sentence for a nonviolent crime.

Both Blagojevich and Stewart have ties to "The Apprentice," the show Trump hosted for several years.

"I will just tell you that the president has received a steady stream of appeals ... so he is assessing many different requests," White House counselor Kellyanne Conway told reporters on Wednesday, according to the Washington Examiner.

"With Blagojevich, the president made very clear that he thought the sentence was too harsh," Conway said, adding that she "won't reveal" how the former governor's case came to Trump's attention.

"It is a measured process. There is a vetting process in place. I will tell you, that everybody who should be involved, is involved in the process," she said.

Trump recently pardoned conservative filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza, who told CNN: "I have never met President Trump in my life. I have spoken to him once before on the telephone, but I have never met him. The time I talked to him about my pardon was only the second time I've spoken to him, ever."
