President Donald Trump has met with Matt Drudge in the Oval Office, Politico reported Thursday.
The president has been in close communication with a number of conservative media personalities such as Drudge, the proprietor of The Drudge Report, and they met to discuss Trump's administration and his website, according to the report.
Trump senior adviser Jared Kushner has also been communicating frequently with Drudge, people familiar with their conversations told Politico.
Drudge's previous visits to the White House had not been reported, and he did not respond to a request to comment.
Drudge has been critical of Republicans in Congress recently. In March, he said he suspected Republicans were attempting to undermine the president. "I suspect there's a sabotage. Do you know Obama had the stimulus package on his desk before Inauguration Day? What did this Congress give this great man? Nothing," Drudge said March 31 on "The Michael Savage Show."
Trump's administration is in "crisis — on many fronts," Drudge said in the interview.
However, in the Politico interview, the president addressed the idea that his aides did not work well together. "The team gets along really, really well," he said.
