President Donald Trump's most loyal supporters are losing patience with Congress' multiple investigations into Russian election interference, Politico reports.

"Three investigations is just way too many," Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., said of the probes being conducted by the House and Senate Intelligence Committees and the Senate Judiciary Committee. "Some of them need to step back and wait until we see what evidence is educed."

Republican National Committee member Lori Klein Corbin of Arizona added that the investigations are a distraction, and blamed top-level members of the GOP.

"Of course, the Republican leadership is behind these probes," she told Politico. "The Republicans cannot get over the fact that Trump won and is our president."

Ousted White House strategist Steve Bannon echoed the sentiment in a recent "60 Minutes" interview, in which he blamed House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., for allowing "three investigative committees on Capitol Hill with full subpoena power" to go "after President Trump every day," and suggesting that the investigations are attempts by GOP leadership to "nullify" Trump's election.

"I think there's a frustration that Trump seems to be constantly under attack," Saul Anuzis, a veteran Republican strategist, said of the president's supporters. "It doesn't matter what the process is, there's a feeling that he's not being fairly treated. The president never got his honeymoon period."

However, former RNC Chairman Michael Steele told Politico that "the greater risk would be if they didn't" continue the investigations. "The backlash and the hue and cry of cover-up and political favoritism would probably be far worse."

He added, "Let the committees do their job and let the investigations go where they need to go. The general thinking is, well, if there was no behavior to investigate in the first place, well, we wouldn't be here then, would we?"
