President Donald Trump continued his assault against the Democrat-led impeachment inquiry against him Wednesday as he called for the impeachment of Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif.
In a series of tweets, Trump bashed both Schiff and the whistleblower whose concerns about Trump using his office for political purposes kicked off the impeachment effort.
"He should be Impeached for Fraud!" Trump wrote in response to a Republican lawmaker's tweet about Schiff, who is chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and a leader of the Democrats' impeachment effort.
Prior to that, Trump took aim at the whistleblower — presumably the first of two whistleblowers who have come forward with concerns stemming from a July 25 phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
"The Whistleblower's facts have been so incorrect about my 'no pressure' conversation with the Ukrainian President, and now the conflict of interest and involvement with a Democrat Candidate, that he or she should be exposed and questioned properly. This is no Whistleblower…..," he wrote.
".....The Whistleblower's lawyer is a big Democrat. The Whistleblower has ties to one of my DEMOCRAT OPPONENTS. Why does the ICIG allow this scam to continue?" Trump added.
The impeachment inquiry took another turn Tuesday when the White House announced it will not cooperate with the effort to remove Trump from office.
