A survey in Connecticut shows that Donald Trump is out front among the Republican presidential candidates, but Democrats Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are in a tight race, according to Public Policy Polling survey results.
  • Trump got the support of 59 percent of those surveyed.
  • John Kasich got the support of 25 percent of those surveyed.
  • Ted Cruz got the support of 13 percent of those surveyed.
Trump has a 66-percent "favorable" rating in Connecticut, while Cruz has 26 percent.

In the Democrat race:
  • Clinton got the support of 48 percent of those surveyed.
  • Sanders got the support of 46 percent of those surveyed.
The Connecticut poll results suggest that Clinton's slight edge could come from her high "favorable" rating among African-Americans in the state. Sixty-three percent of those who voted in the poll called her "favorable."
