President Donald Trump has weaponized materials from the Justice Department for his reelection campaign.

Politico noted the information comes from recently declassified or disclosed materials.

They include information about the prosecution of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, new details about the creation of the anti-Trump dossier by former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele, and details about discarded absentee ballots in Pennsylvania,

The Justice Department insisted the release of the information has nothing to do with politics.

But Gene Rossi, a former federal prosecutor, said: “The attorney general is working hand in glove with the White House and the Trump reelection campaign.”

Trump has claimed that a widespread campaign of voter fraud could put the legitimacy of the 2020 election into doubt. Politico reported that on Thursday, a U.S. attorney from Pennsylvania revealed a newly opened probe into mishandled ballots in a Pennsylvania election office.

Attorney General Bill Barr also has delivered to Sen, Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., material declassified by the FBI about the Steele dossier. Politico reported that Trump used the details as proof that he was targeted.

And last week, court documents revealed that an FBI agent, who was a member of then-special counsel Robert Mueller's team, said the prosecution of  Michael Flynn was part of a "get Trump" attitude.

“Newly released text messages make 100 percent clear the FBI knew that Democrats purchased Russian disinformation targeting me, your favorite president, which then formed the basis of the witch hunt,” Trump said at a Friday rally.
