Donald Trump said Prime Minister David Cameron's office had invited him to visit the U.K., days after the Republican Party's presumptive presidential candidate said the two were unlikely to enjoy a "very good relationship."

"They have asked me to visit 10 Downing Street - and I might do it," Trump told MSNBC on Friday. "I will do just fine with David Cameron. I think he's a nice guy."

Cameron and Trump have clashed over the billionaire real-estate mogul's proposed ban on Muslims entering the U.S., which the British leader last year declared to be "divisive, stupid and wrong."

Trump this week told ITV's "Good Morning Britain" program that he was neither "stupid" nor "divisive" and that Cameron wasn't "willing to address the problem."

Trump said he received the invitation two days ago. In a statement, Cameron's office said it is a "long-standing" practice for prime ministers to meet with the Republican and Democratic presidential nominees if they visit the U.K. although there is no confirmed date given neither party has yet made an official selection.
