Former President Donald Trump Sunday slammed President Joe Biden in the opening comments of his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference crowd, saying "we all knew" the administration would be bad, "but none of us even imagined just how bad they would be and how far left they would go."
"He never talked about this," Trump said, adding that Biden made several comments that he was "okay with energy" when he wasn't.
"Already the Biden administration has proven that they are anti-jobs, anti-family, anti-borders, anti-energy, anti-women and anti-science," said Trump. "In just one short month, we have gone from America first to America last. Think about it, right? America last."
There is "no better example" of that than the "new and horrible crisis on our southern border," said Trump, attacking Biden on his immigration policy that includes stopping construction on the border wall.
"We did such a good job, it was all work," said Trump. "Now he wants it all to go to hell. When I left office just six weeks ago, we had created the most secure border in U.S. history. We had built almost 500 miles of the great border wall that helped us with these numbers...they don't want to complete it."
The Democrats' "number-one policy," he added, was to make sure the wall would not be built or financed, but his administration got the financing, ended catch and release, asylum fraud, and more.
"(There were) some rough customers were entering our country," said Trump. "It took the new administration only a few weeks to turn this unprecedented accomplishment into a self-inflicted humanitarian and national security disaster...they're coming up by the tens of thousands. They're all coming to take advantage of the things that he said that's luring everybody to come to America."
