Trump Shooting Suspect ID'd as Ryan Wesley Routh

By    |   Sunday, 15 September 2024 06:57 PM EDT

The suspect in the alleged second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump has been identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, the New York Post reported.

The suspect, whose X account boasts heavy support for Ukraine, was taken in by authorities.

According to sources, Secret Service agents spotted Routh with an AK-47 near the Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach, the Post reported.

The New York Post reported that the FBI has released photos of Routh's backpack placed against a chain-link fence near Trump's golf course. The photos also showed an AK-47 along with a Go-Pro.

The story is still developing. A video on Rumble shows Routh pleading heavily in support of the Ukrainian war effort. But it is unclear when in the past two years the video was taken. Newsmax is awaiting to hear from authorities what the suspect's motive was.
