The Trump administration is planning to unveil up to eight final prototypes for the southern border wall sometime this summer, Breitbart reported.
The prototypes, to be built in San Diego, will give U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials a chance to review and test the designs before making a final determination.
The 4-8 finalists come from a batch of more than 100 proposals received by Customs and Border Protection.
It's unclear if President Donald Trump will be involved in announcing the finalists, Breitbart reported.
Further, some of the prototypes might be different from Trump's vision of a solid wall; a see-through structure is also expected to be one of the designs.
Earlier this week Trump reportedly broached the idea of solar panels to help pay for the wall, but it's not clear if a prototype with panels would be one that makes the cut this summer.
