There is a "big question" over whether former FBI Director James Comey kept detailed memos while he was serving during the Obama administration and Judicial Watch wants to obtain them, its president, Tom Fitton, said Monday.
"We can even get the memos he wrote about President [Donald] Trump," Fitton told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program Monday. "The FBI told us the other day we can count them because they're part of the law enforcement investigation, specifically the Russian ambassador."
Fitton said he does not know if the FBI has told the Senate the same thing, Comey himself talked not only about the agency's concerning Hillary Clinton last July after former President Bill Clinton met with then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch in her plane on an airport tarmac.
"We sued for records about that tarmac meeting,' Fitton said, noting the records are voluminous.
"They searched for the record back in December and they still haven't given them to us," he said. "We should be getting [them] in the next few months."
'It's interesting to see what they turn over." said Fitton. "The timeline is ticking. They told the court they need about three months to turn the records over to us about a month ago. We should be getting them any time."
