President Donald Trump “could be more focused and disciplined about staying on his agenda," according to Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton.

"I think the president could be more focused and disciplined about staying on his agenda," Cotton said on David Axelrod's "The Axe Files" podcast on CNN Monday.

Trump took to Twitter to criticize London Mayor Sadiq Khan and the U.S. Justice Department in the wake of the attack on London Bridge.

"I've communicated that publicly as well as privately to him," Cotton said.

He added that Trump should be focused on "things like jobs, wages and security," instead of the investigation into allegations of Russian interference in the election.

"To the extent that he's focused on all of the hair on fire, wild-eyed allegations and drama around these inquiries, he's going to do less well," Cotton said.
