Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, pushed back at a longshot Alabama bill to mandate vasectomies for men at the age of 50 or after their third child.
"Yikes. A government big enough to give you everything is big enough to take everything...literally! Alabama Democrat proposes bill mandating all men have vasectomy at age 50 or after third child."
Alabama state Rep. Rolanda Hollis, a Democrat, had proposed the radical legislation to combat Alabama's push for laws against abortion, saying "responsibility is not always on the women."
She tweeted last week:
"Vasectomy Bill HB 238
"The Vasectomy bill is to help with the reproductive system. This is to neutralize the abortion ban bill.
"The responsibility is not always on the women. It takes 2 to tangle. This will help prevent pregnancy as well as abortion of unwanted children."
Cruz has been one of Congress' staunchest pro life conservatives. States like Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, and Louisiana have been pushing legislation to restriction abortions, if not ban them outright.
