A new ad calls out Texas Sen. Ted Cruz for lying, and the spot was produced by a super PAC with ties to Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

The ad, called "Nose," features an image of Cruz while a narrator speaks in the background.

"Many just call him Lyin' Ted," the ad says. As the narrator speaks, Cruz's nose grows so long it wraps around his neck three times.

"Lied about Ben Carson to steal a win in Iowa. Lied about being the best for the GOP, when polls show he can't even beat Hillary Clinton. His TV ad about John Kasich? Lie. Stations had to pull it off the air.

"If Ted Cruz's mouth is moving, he's lying."

Donald Trump, the leading Republican candidate for president, first used the phrase "Lyin' Ted." Trump has a strong lead in the polls and delegate votes as he seeks to wrap up the party's presidential nomination ahead of the convention this summer.

Kasich trails Trump, Cruz, and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who suspended his presidential campaign two weeks ago, in delegate votes. Still, the career politician has refused to give in and exit the race.

Some have even said Kasich is playing the role of spoiler, meaning his presence in the race is taking enough votes away from Cruz that Trump will earn the nod.

Kasich said Wednesday Trump is pushing people toward "doom and gloom" on the campaign trail.
