A former delegate for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's presidential campaign said she is now supporting Donald Trump for president.

"As progressives erode and weaken what is exceptional about America, I worry we may not have four more years to spare,” Ginni Thomas wrote in Conservative HQ.

She said while she supported Cruz, "Americans disagreed."

Trump is against political correctness, "a malignant weapon making America less safe today as it infects our law enforcement and national security," Thomas said.

The Republican candidate is "far from perfect," but he is "refreshingly common-sensical and patriotic, and the only viable option available to keep another progressive from wielding American power."

Thomas slammed Trump's Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, saying she will behave as president the same way Barack Obama has: "Hillary Clinton supports policies pulling America apart."

"She would continue the failed progressive policies of President Obama, who has polarized the nation with identity politics, weaponized bureaucrats against his opponents and set up two sets of rules where Washington picks winners and losers," Thomas said. "Hillary Clinton has not distanced herself from any of these dangerous developments."

Clinton's actions as secretary of state "weakened America," Thomas claimed.

The Democratic candidate does not represent all women, just "liberal women and their causes," Thomas said. The Democratic candidate's presidency would only benefit "limousine liberal donors, the mainstream media, and Hollywood elites," Thomas said.

The former delegate professed Trump is the only choice.

"The only alternative for this election is Donald Trump, who is committed to bringing Americans together again, not practicing a divisive identity politics," she said.

Cruz, who ran for the Republican nomination and was defeated by Trump, also said he is supporting the real-estate mogul, because Clinton is "an absolute disaster."
