President Donald Trump has done an incredible job on foreign policy by standing up against "bullies and bad actors" such as Iran, Russia, and North Korea, House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., said Wednesday.
"If you look at what he has done in North Korea, talk about a 180-degree turnaround from just two years ago, when North Korea was moving towards nuclear weapon testing," Scalise told Fox Business' "Mornings With Maria." "Now we've got Kim Jong Un agreeing to denuclearization."
The push must continue against Iran, said Scalise, as ultimately, there must be "real inspections" of the country's nuclear facilities, and Trump has made a good move by pulling out of the international nuclear deal reached while President Barack Obama was in office.
"Iran had the self-inspection policy in place, where you know if anybody trusts Iran to play by the rules, gee whiz, how naive would that be?" Scalise said.
Scalise also discussed the upcoming Senate Judiciary Committee testimony hearing for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and sexual abuse accuser Christine Blasey Ford, agreeing the hearing is not a criminal trial.
"What I believe is we ought to get to the bottom find the facts," Scalise said. "There is no presumption of innocence or guilty when you have a nominee before you."
