Trump Campaign Manager Bill Stepien accused Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden of visiting Kenosha, Wisconsin to campaign for his election, not in an official capacity like President Donald Trump's visit there.
"The president was there earlier in the week as president of the United States," Stepien said on Fox News' "Fox and Friends" Thursday. "Vice President Biden is there today as a candidate, as a political candidate. This is not the time to inject politics into a situation that the president helped solve."
A new Trump advertisement was unveiled in Wisconsin on Wednesday to spotlight the violence in Kenosha, and Stepien said it points out the contrast between Trump, who "wants leadership" and Democrats "who are encouraging violence on the streets. You don't see many supporters of the president throwing bricks through windows or setting buildings on fire."
Meanwhile, according to polls, people are ranking coronavirus as a more pressing issue than law and order, noted Fox News, but Stepien said that with the violence in Kenosha, that showed that violence can "happen anywhere if Democrat leadership is left untethered."
He also accused Biden of engaging in "revisionist history."
"He talked about not, you know, going back onto the campaign trail, you know, keeping his supporters and all Americans safe because of his perceived concerns about coronavirus," said Stepien. "Then the polls tightened, and he announced a trip 10 days down the road to states like Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, all four places the president visited himself two weeks ago.
Stepien also discussed the ongoing concerns about the security of the November vote, saying that it will a "threat to national secuirty" if naming a definite winner is potentially delayed for months.
"Our campaign is very aggressive on the legal fronts, challenging these sham bills thatare benign passed by Democrat governors and legislatures," he said. "We are very aggressive on this front because our democracy and national security is at stake."
