Stephen Colbert, the host of CBS’ "The Late Show," sent a tweet to another late night talk show host, Jimmy Kimmel, about Kimmel’s recent comments on the Obamacare repeal bill sponsored by Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. and Bill Cassidy, R-La.

Kimmel slammed the healthcare bill this week on his ABC show, saying on Wednesday that Cassidy "lied to my face" when the senator appeared on Kimmel’s show earlier this year.

At issue for Kimmel is coverage of pre-existing conditions in the bill, an issue he has said became clear to him when his baby son had surgery for a birth defect, noting that many families would not be able to afford such surgery if their child needs it.

Cassidy responded to Kimmel’s criticisms on Thursday, saying, "Jimmy doesn’t understand." Cassidy said the bill would cover pre-existing conditions. He also offered to speak to Kimmel about the bill.

"We have not spoken and I would love to talk to him about this," Cassidy said Thursday on "Fox & Friends."

Colbert’s tweet referred to President Donald Trump’s history as host of the NBC show "The Apprentice." Trump-owned casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey, were closed due to bankruptcy, according to a 2016 report in The New York Times.
