Vice President Mike Pence vowed in a tweet Monday the United States would not repeat the mistake of the previous administration when Iranian protestors resisted the regime in Tehran.

Pence also vowed not to let down the demonstrators, although he gave no specifics of a course of action to aid them.

At the beginning of the protest last week, Pence also tweeted his condemnation of the Iranian government and support for the protests.

Pence's support for the demonstrators comes as President Donald Trump has also sent out several tweets pledging American support for the demonstrators and stressing it is time for change in Iran.
