Texas Rep.
Pete Sessions played a key role in Republicans’ addition of 63 seats in last year’s elections as chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC). But Sessions cuts a much lower profile than his colleagues in the GOP leadership,
TheHill reports.

He takes little credit for last year’s election success. Rather Sessions has emphasized the party’s teamwork. “We built the enthusiasm within our conference and the desire and will to win. Our members got behind that, and we worked as a team. A lot of people worked diligently on it. So I think it was a Republican team victory and the NRCC did amazingly well,” he told The Hill.
Ironically, some pundits say Sessions’ quiet style could hurt Republicans next year by making it more difficult for the NRCC to attract cash.
