The more pundits pronounce the death of bipartisanship, the more it apparently thrives. And so it is that Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions
(pictured), who opposed the bank bailouts, the economic stimulus package, even the deal President Barack Obama reached last month with Republican leaders to extend Bush-era tax cuts, is already cooperating with Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad, D-N.D,
Politico reports.
“Sessions and Conrad already are out front in the new Congress, talking in earnest about a potential framework for the budget,” the news service states. “They get along well, often chatting at the gym. They both prioritize debt reduction. And they’re discussing the idea of a two-year budget plan, rather than the annual blueprint that has to be crafted each spring.”
