Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Wednesday he would have "no way" of knowing if the Russians bugged the Oval Office, the Washington Examiner reported.
Tillerson made the comment after an MSNBC reporter asked him that since Russian President "Vladimir Putin is offering Congress a transcript of that Lavrov Oval Office meeting, do you think the Russians were bugging the Oval Office?"
The secretary of state smiled and responded that he "would have no way to know that" and then walked away as another question was asked.
Putin had offered earlier Wednesday to provide U.S. congressmen with a transcript of Trump's meeting with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, raising questions about if the Kremlin actually has one and how they might have obtained it, The Hill reported.
That meeting was the one in which Trump allegedly revealed to the Russians highly classified information that was provided by Israel and could endanger an agent in the field.
